KAN Knit and Natter Adelaide
Do you love to knit, crochet or sew and would you like to help a Charity?
We invite crafty people to join us in making items to be donated to charities who support people and animals in need. These charities may assist people who are homeless, abused, from a disadvantaged background, premmie babies, cancer patients, babies and children in foster care, people in hospital as well as animals in shelters.
The charities we donate to must give the items DIRECTLY to those in need and not sell them! We support both local and interstate charities and are always looking for suggestions of other charities that require assistance. Charities like to be able to give NEW items to someone in need as it shows them people do care and helps boost their self esteem.

You can work at your own pace at home and would also be very welcome to attend regular Knit and Natter (KAN) meetings. These casual meetings are a great way to meet with other members in the group, share ideas, show items you have made, distribute donated yarn, hand over completed items to be delivered to the charities and most importantly to have fun!
There is no pressure to make any particular number of items, just whatever you can do would be great! If you think that one donation wouldn't help please consider this: One item that you create KAN make a huge difference and brighten someone's life, nothing is impossible, it KAN be done when broken down into baby steps!
So get those needles clicking! Booties, bonnets, beanies, scarves, gloves, socks, jumpers, cardigans, lap rugs, animal blankets and soft toys would be greatly appreciated. You can choose to knit, crochet or sew items, and some members also purchase retail items to donate as well. We provide a list of items required by charities but it is entirely up to you what you make, as I’m sure we can find a home for it!
